I am a quilter, I love the woods, the ADKs and sitting by the water. She/her
My #nokings protest flag . The block that makes up the background called “Burgoyne Surrounded”. It was designed to celebrate the Battle of Saratoga - the first battle the English lost during the Revolutionary War.

Today I spent my No Kings Day working on a resistance quilt. I based this on the Burgoyne Surrounded block which references The Battle of Saratoga. I call this Fascism Surrounded. #quiltsky

Gus seems to be contemplating the state of the world as well.

It is time to shape my dough but my cat needs a nap, he wins.

This is my wall of quilts, they all get used and loved. Some were made by my mom and sister, some I made for myself and some I made for my kids. This little spot in my house brings me lots of joy :) #quiltsky

I have had a pretty bright pallet for the past few years, I felt the need to go a bit more muted and calm. This is bringing me back to watching Little House in the early 80s :) #quiltsky

Since I am off TikTok (at least for awhile) this is my wrap up from the end of 2023. I was def on a Tula kick for awhile :) #quiltsky

Cats are the perfect animal, they are part companion, part decor :)

Today was hard, distracted myself with soup & sewing. Took out this book last week from the library, I need to work on something that’ll take some focus. Just saw the 1st strip set I’m cutting is red/white/blue, the flag still turns me off a bit, have to remember what the real issue is. #quiltsky

I did this 2024 wrap up on TT before the “ban”. Really not sure how I feel about going back there when it comes back. Everything just feels off.

This quilt started as a swap in a FB quilt group. I really enjoyed the Polaroid blocks for highlighting fun fabrics, this one is all Tula Pink. #quiltsky

This is a bit of the process of building the MoonGarden quilt. I found it interesting that when I started making this in Jan ‘24, I was thinking about light moving through darkness and as I finished it up at the end of the year, we were being called to be the light.

This is another favorite from 2024, it was a bit of an improv, the flowers were based on a quilt I came across online. The composition was inspired by the Tula Pink’s MoonGarden line - it all came together on my design wall as I played with light moving through the garden.

Some good points and some not so good points, this has been a fun quilt to make :)

This is a favorite quilt from 2024, the fabrics came from a trip my sister and I took to Colorado. We each bought a FQ pack to use at our annual NH fall retreat. 2 great trips wrapped into one quilt. Lesson learned: she drives the CO Mtn passes, I hold the “oh shit” handle to keep us on the road.

I’m not a perfectionist but I do love it when the points come like this. Making my first Alaska quilt :) #quiltsky
