Still working through the silhouette issues and growth spurts with shadows. More sketches from reference photos taken at the local Farmers’ Market. Gouache and ink.

Not sure what I think of these. I love sketching the line work and filling in the black around the figures. But in the past I have stopped there without indicating any shadows (and therefore sacrificing subtle depth) for the most part. I’m more willing to explore shadows these days. 🤷‍♀️

Days 5 and 6 of #the100dayproject (eeep, I started early). For me, this project is to be centered around showing up for sketching daily and reacquainting myself with watercolor pencils.
