As we* hoped, my co-authored marine GDGT « cookbook » review paper was accepted for publication in the @egu.eu journal Biogeosciences after peer-review and (minor) revision! 🥳 🍾

Good news: my first first-authored paper just had a new citation!
Not-so-good news: the citing paper is published in a MDPI journal and, most importantly, the citation of Davtian et al. (2016)—see its overview in the quoted 🧵 below—appears irrelevant to me.

… and second, the @laboratoire-epoc.bsky.social core repository in early June—two weeks ago.
Hopefully, these core repository visits would be the first of many!

Over the past few months, I went to two core repositories to sample several marine sediment cores and meet some of my new collaborators in person.
First, the @lsce-ipsl.bsky.social core repository in mid-April…

Today, my #PhD degree, which I completed at @univ-amu.fr @cerege.bsky.social, turns six!
Thank you again @tdegaridel.bsky.social—co-director of @climatecerege.bsky.social at that time—for the first post about my PhD defense at the formerly 🐦 place!

Many thanks for the prompt reply!
I did not receive a notification concerning my addition to this list either. Was this list withheld as well for the same reasons (I suspect so)?
January 19, 2025 at 7:51 AM
Is it normal that I was not notified concerning my addition to these lists*?

*I also suspect an abusive (and malicious?) use concerning handle.invalid’s list, but this is another story.

I am so glad to be part of the @climatecerege.bsky.social research team again! And this time, I would remain part of this research team for a while! Also, @juliemeilland.bsky.social will become one of my @climatecerege.bsky.social colleagues next year!

Among my six first-authored papers, the highest @altmetric.com number currently belongs to Davtian and Bard (2023) PNAS, which is not a surprise given the paper’s significance. Importantly, this is a case of modest but good « buzz » to me so far.

BTW among my twelve papers—first-authored and co-authored papers—Martin et al. (2020) QSR currently has the second highest @altmetric.com number, whereas the highest @altmetric.com number currently belongs to Ochando et al. (2024) QSR.

Interesting…
I checked out the @altmetric.com captures of the reintroduced @climatecerege.bsky.social papers of mine and realized that @altmetric.com also captured DOI links in ALT texts of figures, even in the absence of such a link in the associated Bluesky post.

In short, Martin et al. (2020) found:
1) A thermal maximum recorded by brGDGTs and pollen during the early Holocene
2) Rapid climate events recorded by brGDGTs and pollen during the Holocene
3) No evidence for a seasonal bias in the brGDGT or pollen temperature signals
NB: Two-part ALT text.

In short, Ménot et al. (2020) found:
1) A stepwise onset of the African Humid Period (AHP) at 14.8 ka
2) An early initiation of the AHP stepwise termination at 8.5 ka ending within 4 ka
3) An imprint of abrupt “North Atlantic events” such as the Younger Dryas in the Nile sedimentary sequence
