Favorite thriller: HANG ON SAINT CHRISTOPHER by Adrian McKinty. I'm addicted to McKinty's Sean Duffy series, set near Belfast during The Troubles. What a setting! Echoes of today as paramilitaries via for power and one flawed man tries for a smidgen of justice.

Best TTRPG system: Daggerheart. Nimble, fun, easy to learn. Fuels the imagination.

Best TV series: ANDOR, Season 2. Moving, gorgeous, frightening relevant. Deep character and deeper writing. Just go watch it.

My personal best of for 2025. Eccentric and personal. First up, best movie I saw - SINNERS. Blew my mind. Drove me to watch analyses of references and visuals. Ryan Coogler is a genius. Michael B. Jordan giving the film performance of the year.

After reading Chuck's hilarious blog post, I asked AI if I have a dog. And I don't. But I do have an late husband! Apparently he loved every dog he met. Which isn't easy when you don't exist.

I would ask what his name was, but I don't want to use more water and electricity proving AI is bullshit.

Late afternoon walk on the WB lot. Spotted a fat moon over Stage 22, where an art dept set up an inflatable Santa chicken. Passed a wardrobe trailer full of nothing but khaki pants. Made an offering to our resident ravens (crows?) Bogie and Bacall.

Gorgeous day on the WB lot. Working on the lot itself is a joy.

Charlie never looks more human than when he does this arm thing. He's like a dad throwing his arm around the back of the seat beside him.

Research is fun. In France in 1962, the ambulances were Citroëns with no sirens and just enough room in the back for a gurney. No IVs, barely any equipment to treat the patient. Just a vehicle to get you to the hospital in a prone position. It wasn't much different in the US.

In the statue park in Budapest Stalin's lonely boots stand, empty. It's a sort of zoo for monuments of the Communist regime. So I'm looking forward to the day we tear down the ballroom and the arch and the no-doubt in-the-works gold statue overlooking the Potomac. Put them where they belong.

Said hi to the pair of ravens that live here. I call them Bogie and Bacall because I first saw them perched on Studio 20, where The Big Sleep was shot. Could also have named them Bette and Paul, I guess.

Love walking around the WB lot this time of afternoon. The shadows are long, and it's quiet. Saw two extras from The Pitt in hospital gowns eating ice cream.

RIP Robert Redford. Thank you, sir, for your environmental efforts and your movies. In particular, thank you for Quiz Show, the most underrated great film in history.

Seriously, it's one of my favorite films. Go watch it.
