Self-driving cars will only ever be a distraction that absorbs investment to the detriment of our urgent need to establish a habitable, sustainable civilization.

Even if we perfected self-driving technology, it would be a massively wasteful endeavor, further entrenching us in a disastrous car-based infrastructure that imperils community, mental health, and the long-term survival of our species. The real solution is buses, trains, bikes, walkable cities.

Aquarium, Garden, Zoo. The cool blues and dim interiors of an Aquarium are simply too relaxing to beat.

imagine if you grew up next to a construction site and then someone tried to convince you that houses are "just born that way"

judith butler and the woke army did not persuade me that gender is a social construct; living in a house of 50 cis college guys who start their meetings reading from "the bro code" made that clear enough on its own

i think it's just the mania of small power. We're all subject to it, and the best antidote is self-awareness.

I grew up seeing women and basically any kind of minority mocked and policed for even the slightest gap in knowledge in gaming and other nerd communities, and while I feel like this whole thing is maybe a little different, it still arouses a lot of the same distaste, for me.

very fair. for me, I object primarily to gatekeeping and shibboleths. I want to see interest in folklore and fantasy grow; mocking people who walk in the beginning stages- especially people I've met personally and think are good people- makes me upset.
