What do you mean? The right thing is clearly to announce a Rian Johnson trilogy then take it away when sentiments sour, a D&D movie then take it away when sentiments sour, a Dave and Lywen stewardship then take it away when sentiments sour, a...

Phew. I thought you meant the British soccer team Wolverhampton Wanderers, colloquially called Wolves, who are rock bottom of the Premier League right now with a historically bad points total. I thought old dog Dan Olsen had lost his damn mind calling Wolves good!

Wolves the animal are good.

In short: I have complicated thoughts about capitalism and socialism, but one thing I know for certain is that our value is not just in how productive we are, how much capital we produce.

A perspective I think everyone should have. We're not just product producing machines. Our value is not just in what we make. We have thoughts to convey, art to create, selves to express, and even money to make, but also a life to live. Our totality of existence includes our self-focused moments.

I think this video probably explains his decision to double down on mirroring indigenous cultures, and he probably focused on the Maori for 2 and 3 because of his New Zealand crew. But Kate Winslet being Maori is classic white boy making a movie with his white friend. youtu.be/nIEbpGdctyg?...

Infinity War and Endgame have tainted the brand in that expectations for an Avengers movie are that it wraps up multi-movie arcs built up over years of prior films. Doomsday can be an enjoyable movie ala A1, but it can't be Endgame level good.

I saw A1 with my friends without seeing the solo films and they thought I was crazy. "You won't know what's going on!" But I knew the movie would work as standalone. They wouldn't make a movie that needed 4 other movies as homework! And A1 was enjoyable on its own. But times have changed.

Some of the best art comes out of fuck ups. Or happy little accidents, as Bob Ross used to say.

That's the whole crux of it for me. It's not AI. They haven't made AI. If they *had* made an intelligent being then the convo would be much different. I would pay for AI to make art. AI could absolutely make art. But what they've made is not AI and is just another silicon valley "disrupt" product.
