I remember using it a couple of times when I had to have generic types in my components. But I didn't use it in other ways.

That would be a nice addition indeed. It certainly had its weaknesses, but

export let foo: string;

was very ergonomic for declaring and typing props. Nowadays adding types to props feels like Like deadweight in a way.

This is a good point. Although for me personally, the way props have to be typed is the larger issue here. But other than that I'm really Happy with the changes overall.

I agree with that and it obviously works. Even knowing about their clickbaity nature, I find it hard to resist clicking at times.
