Little Boy
a Darren Poem

Darren was babysitting his nephew. He took him to the park. He hoped to see the rabbit. It wasn’t there. A friend of Darren’s sister bent over the buggy and said, How’s my special little boy? Darren said, I’m fine, thank you, how are you?

Whenever he was asked where he studied, Darren would say the University of Life, even though he had a 2:2 from Wolverhampton University.

Smell

Darren noticed how everywhere in Turkey smelt the same. The bazaar, the hotel, and the beach - all smelt like a cocktail of cedar wood, lime, ginger, and cloves. A very pleasant smell. It was only when he returned to Solihull that he realised it was his beard oil.
