The reactivation of the #landslide Ahörndler in Wattenwil (CH) began around one year ago. Movements of up to 1 metre/day have destroyed 60 hectares of forest, 4 residential buildings and 2.5 kilometres of roads. The volume of the landslide is estimated at approx. 5.0 million cubic metres.

In Wattenwil hat sich infolge der Starkniederschläge von Ende 2023 eine permanente Rutschung massiv beschleunigt und eine Fläche von rund 50 ha erfasst. An Wald, Waldstrassen, Gewässerverbauungen und einzelnen Gebäuden gab es grosse Schäden.
