It is false as an either/or description of reality, but it nicely describes the ideological faultline of the emergent eco-ideological Cold War

Science fiction writers don’t claim that they’re describing empirical reality; they’re speculating.
The problem with Loeb is he’s the boy who cries wolf while chasing wild geese, which risks disillusioning public support — he’s the Agent Mulder of astrobiology.

Conversations with therapists/lawyer are privileged even if they're lousy therapists/lawyers — why should it be different with machines? And even if you think users shouldn't interact with LLMs this way for their own good, saddling them with legal liability seems a weird way to promote that goal.

Insofar as you're right, it suggests that there's no need to panic.
People with Mamdani's politics are not electable in large parts of the United States. Which is why it's a good idea to have a big ideological tent!

That's a different argument. In any event, just because you've got a shitty lawyer or therapist doesn't mean the government should be able to read what you say to them.

Chevy Chase and Rodney Dangerfield are also genius in it, but Carl Spackler is just one of the most iconic comic characterizations of all time and Murray steals every scene he is in
