Didn't they just finish a big renovation a couple years ago? Truly heartbreaking. No idea why there have been so many business fires there the last couple years.

I *think* it's about solidarity, not physically going into the building. Get your free drink (happy early birthday, by the way!) and throw the barista a nice tip, or maybe bring some bottled water or something if there are workers actually demonstrating outside. Kudos for thinking about this!
