My possibly unpopular opinion at too early am is: too many people didn't read the book and even fewer(!) are familiar with the source material. Y'all too damned surprised by stuff.

Hank nailed it! This is why, above all, I love this holiday. Dressing up is fun, spooky is fun, but it's this, the sense of community.
I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

One of the things I love about the Tony Awards is that the actor(ess) are usually so nervous when they accept. This means they are just so good at their jobs.
