But it doesn't matter how well you're doing, whether you've beaten Arsenal away and drawn with Man U away, no one beats Aston Villa at Villa Park. No one. Not in S1 or S2. The second hardest match on V2 (after Juve). I have no idea why.

I did some more experimenting and this tactic came out, so I thought I'd give it a go with Newcastle. It's great fun. And good. Albert averaging 8 at sideways sweeper. Shearer doing what he does. No signings.

So i think i've found the tweak i've been looking for, on a tactic that was already doing well. Been experimenting on it today

Still PLENTY of goals from Cole, Sheringham, Scholes, Beckham who have the worst shooting possible. Would they have scored more with higher? Possibly a bit. The difference is not vast. So if your SC has 18 or 10 shooting i'll wager the difference isn't much to worry about

We did have a patch in the middle where goals seemed to get harder to come by. Over 4 games in a row:

I will be using my fave tactic of the moment. This sees lots of scoring chances for the two AMCs, the MC and the SC usually gets about 1 in 2 doing this sacrificial role.

It's our first game in the second season, after being promoted last year. We get Milan away in the cup. To everyone's surprise we go 2-0 up. I start recording to see which elaborate way the CPU will screw us...

The other thing I've noticed is how important it is your MC takes chances. This has nothing to do with shooting attribute, they either can or can't. He's on 14 in 28. and has scored essential goals in nearly every big game. I've noticed this across all saves using this tactic.

As this tactic continues to punch above above its weight I have noticed one thing. How vital it is for the left DC (always no.3 for me) is your best defender. AND captain. We have lost 5 of the 6 games my brilliantly named Italian, James Wilson, has missed.
