11PM, for MODeM once again. Ain’t this groovalicious!
As 11PM rolls around, Nicky rolls up to the building. He has half an hour to set everything up, and he was confident he could easily get it done. Just needed to start transporting everything! He set his PanePhone 3 down, grabbed his bags, and started transferring his snack backpack + laptop inside. He grabbed a flashlight, wandering the halls and trying to find the perfect place to set up base for the night. Long-rusted metal beasts stood on stage, mouldy masks resting haphazardly on their metal faces. Nicky looked at them, uneased by the fact that they were… different from his youth. It was people behind the shows from his childhood, right? He shrugged it off, or tried to at least, as he continued venturing deeper. Soon, he found an office, sitting empty and abandoned, save for an old Competetor 64 sitting on the desk. The computer was surprisingly pristine, a case for “Randy Raven’s Rescue!” by Airlock Software lying beside it. He opened it, revealing a pristine cassette lying inside, before setting it down and opening his bags. He set his laptop and personal routers down, beginning to connect everything to power / to his own internet, to prepare for the stream soon. He put his head-bound camera on, making sure the Bluetooth was connected, before beginning stream. “Hello, Chat! It’s ForgivenForget, but’cha can call me Nicky! Tonight, we’re doing our first October stream, and we’re kicking it off with a doozy! A full all night stream, all right here in this wonderful establishment! Don’t worry, we have permission from the owners. Now, first adventure is to go grab my other stuff from the car! Join me, chat!” Nicky swapped feeds from the computer’s camera to the headbound one, humming a tune as he made his way to the doors. He looked over to the rusted figures as he passed, before attempting to push the doors open. They clicked and the bars moved, but nothing happened. “…?” Nicky pushed on the bars harder, but the door wouldn’t budge. “…Alright, chat! We’re… going to go back to the office now! At the very least, we have one game that’ll work!” Nicky was worried, but he tried not to worry chat. He walked back to the office, before sitting down, and spinning over. He took the tape in his hands, before slotting it into the Competetor 64. The computer buzzed and whirred to life loudly, as it rendered a chibi image of the raven, chasing after an unknown figure.

“Aaand that’s where I’ll leave off! Game’s gettin’ good, but I gotta prepare for tomorrow night! Got a super special stream tomorrow night, and just in time for the spooky month! Now, sleep well, and keep it cool!” Nicky hit the button he wired to turn off stream, sitting away from his keyboard. As the stream turned to a close, Nicky sighed, sitting back. Tomorrow night, he’ll need to make sure to arrive early. He makes a quick post in chat, “Stream starts at 11:30 or Midnight, PST! You’re not gonna want to miss this one!” He stretches back in his chair, before picking up his notepad and a pen. He needed to make sure he didn’t forget anything this time, Chat went wild last time he accidentally forgot his camera and had to go get it. At least he had a dancing skeleton gif to keep them occupied. Camera, check. Personal internet router, check. Portable streaming laptop, check. Data card, check. Everything’s functional, but too expensive to do more than once a month. October 13th, what a night to do it on, too! It sounds like it’s gonna rain tomorrow night, too. A perfect night for atmosphere, and atmosphere was everything on stream! It was just as much a show as it was real, like… “Real Television”. What a concept, he mused, as he packed everything, checking over his venue tomorrow night. It’s somewhere he used to visit, an old food joint that coincidentally had musical performances. Somewhere he learned the feeling of showmanship, the true meaning of performance. The shows were a staple of his childhood, but they closed years ago, when he was 12. He saw the last show they had, on his birthday, and he’d wondered what they’d done there. With his thanks,tv influence, though, he was able to contact the current owner. They hadn’t torn it down yet, and he was gonna be the only person there that night. He just needed to make sure it didn’t fall apart that night, and to raffle off some vintage merch, and he wouldn’t need to pay a cent! He could afford some more set design to make it more appealing, bring in more viewers, and!- …he was getting too ahead of himself. He coughed, snapping back to reality, before calling the owner of the building, to make sure everything was on for tomorrow. Can’t have differing plans that would break the plans, it had far too much planning worked into it to break! “Heyyy, Danny boy!!!”, called Nicky into the phone. “Hello, Nicholas.”, replied Daniel. “Don’t worry, everything’s still okay for tomorrow. Nobody else, just you there. Don’t get hurt, you signed an agreement not to sue me anyways.” “Yeah, yeah. Okay, I’ll be there tomorrow. Raffle, maintenance, etcetera will be done. See ya, Danny boy..” “It’s Daniel to y-“, started Daniel before he got cut off, by the beep of hanging up. Nicky packed everything else into his duffel bag, before lying in bed. He pushed the blankets over himself, shutting his eyes and breathing deeply, before trying to fall asleep. He was excited for tomorrow, it’s been forever since he had finally seen inside, and this would be the stream to end all streams for him! The buzz alone made him want to perform as well as he could, and he shut his eyes to make sure he was well rested.

CH1 ///|\\\ I wake up, dreary eyed, on a typical Monday. The chorus outside gently kills me to the waking world. I stretch, stepping out of bed, before going to pour myself coffee. As it stands, I am beginning to run low on coffee grounds, so I write down that I need to purchase more grounds. I pour myself a cup of coffee, before adding cream and taking a sip. I add a small cube of sugar as well, before stirring it all together and walking towards the window, staring out the window. The red sky was beautiful at this time of day, and what a day it was already. After I finish my coffee, I start cooking myself eggs and bacon, my usual breakfast. The chorus continued to sing and hum from outside, as I plated my food, digging in. My eggs were over easy, as normal, and my bacon was chewy. I soon finished eating, washing my plate and cup before getting into my car to stop by the store, bringing my list along as well. I stepped into the store, grabbing the groceries on my list and ensuring to grab my favourite flavour of coffee grounds. My usual brand of bacon was sold out, though, so I bought a different brand instead. I then drove home, setting everything in their right places, before making myself a sandwich and watching TV. At 6:30, I started to cook myself dinner. After eating, I went to bed. Today was just another normal day. CH2 ///|\\\ I awoke, to the sound of knocking at my front door. I yawned, flicking my light switch on, as I walked to go investigate the racket. Before going to the door, though, I poured myself a glass of coffee, as normal. Taking a sip, I opened the door, to two people in suits. “What are you still doing here? Come with us!”, said one, the other armed. I took a sip of my coffee, before retorting with “Well, what are YOU still doing here on my doorstep?” “We have orders to bring everyone out of the town before we close the perimeter!”, stated the armed one. “Well, could you not wait until tomorrow to do this? I just woke up.” “You just- HAVE YOU NOT BEEN HEARING THE SIRENS?”, yelled the unarmed soldier. “Yes, I have. They were hard to sleep through.”, I replied. The armed one was about to retort again, before being stopped by the unarmed one. The dynamic duo had decided to leave me alone, thankfully, so I shut the door and finished my coffee, listening to the chorus outside getting louder. Today was another normal day, despite the rude visitors.
