Morning Mushen and Beans! I briefly placed a pet bed (it’s clean!) on the kitchen table last week. Beans won’t be surprised to hear Leo has decided it’s the best place in the house to be

Thanks, Syd. Every day’s a school day! I live in West Sussex, but very close to the border of East Sussex. I’ve only ever seen the blue version with gold martlets flown. Apparently East and West Sussex have their own versions but they don’t seem to be used often. This is West Sussex’s version:

Anyone know what the red flag with yellow symbol represents? The photo is from an article on the BBC News website/Sussex news about opposition to a plan for housing asylum seekers in a barracks near Crowborough

Morning ORCs! Beautiful blue sky and sunshine in Sussex. We live in a bit of a frost pocket at the bottom of two hills and very close to school playing fields that give North winds a golden opportunity to blow without obstacles in their way. Thermals are definitely being worn. Leo is staying in bed

Morning CiF and fellow ORCs. Grey and damp in Sussex, makes it easier to get my head down and concentrate on work. Leo has the best idea, though

A bookshelf of cookery books with the image flipped ninety degrees so the books look as though they’re in three piles. I collect cookery books hoping one will come with a free chef No luck so far 🤷‍♀️

I followed a couple of those websites in the last GE. One was inconclusive, the other called it for Labour. There were no Labour posters/placards locally, only LibDem and Tory. I went with my gut and voted Lib/Dem

Pleased to hear you’re on the mend. We always air the bed too (with fingers crossed Leo doesn’t decide to lay on it or walk across it with mucky paws)

Crisp and sunny in Sussex. We had wind and rain but wouldn’t have put either anywhere near storm category. Taking my tea up to bed and treating myself to some reading time. Hope your day is a good one ☕️

Morning ORCs. I hope everyone had a good weekend and the coming week brings smiles to all. Crikey, it’s chilly this morning. Hard to believe this time last week I was enjoying glorious sunshine with in Corfu!

Beautiful photos, Jay! Our cats sound very similar. Tara never went over 3kg her entire life.

Morning SORCs – happy #Caturday from Leo and me. Lovely time last night celebrating friends’ move to Spain. A few tears but lots of laughter. Off to find a gift for neighbour who’s celebrating her 70th tomorrow. Absolutely no idea what to get 🤷‍♀️

This T-shirt from @weownit.org.uk says it all. Maybe we should send one to Rachel Reeves

I thought the moths hadn’t reached the loft. I was wrong. We married when our son was 9. His outfit was a leather jacket, black T-shirt, DMs and a Sinclair tartan wool kilt (loved Monarch of the Glen). The effing moth larvae have eaten holes in the kilt ☹️

I’ve put a reminder in my phone calendar for a week before. This is the ‘contract’ part of the email NYT sent in case it helps:

Morning Countess and ORCs. Got up and made tea ages ago. Not sure when I’ll be able to move as my legs are currently acting as a wedge for King Leo

Morning CJ and #SORC ers. Maximum cloud cover and a nip in the air in Sussex. Today is Leo’s 14th birthday. He’s had his favourite breakfast and is now having a quick wash. Was going to name him Rory (after my favourite vet) but it didn’t suit him and when we realised his birth sign . . . #Caturday

Morning ORCs. Reminding myself it’ll be cold and damp soon! Feel sorry for all those having to work outside. Think there may be mice burrowed under one of the hedges – Leo is very interested. Hoping his weight, age and missing eye mean his hunting days are over
