I loved learning about Artemisia in art history! And comparing her version of “Judith” side-by-side with Caravaggio’s (attached). Notice how Judith looks timid in his depiction — almost seemingly egged on by the woman beside her. In contrast, Artemisia depicts Judith as confident in her actions.
