It feels like this administration is intentionally trying to move America backward. When I try to understand why, I find myself hoping it's just wild incompetence because the alternative is even more terrifying.

That is the most selfish and elitist shit I've ever heard spoken in my 50 years on this planet. I hate it here.

Make it make sense. You can't because it doesn't. Adequately staffing National Parks is NOT wasteful spending. Not adequately staffing National Parks helps no one, but it does hurt the economy (and the environment, but this administration doesn't care about the environment, at all).

"Interior Department figures from last summer noted that the National Park System generated $55.6 billion for the national economy in 2023, an increase of $5.2 billion from the year before."

I knew the author when she was a little girl. Her mother was one of my best friends when we lived in Savannah. I've read her previous two books but have not yet read this one.

The ones I have read all take place in the English countryside during World War II. The backdrop of the stories is serious, but the stories themselves are heart-warming tales about women coming together.

The Kitchen Front by Jennifer Ryan. Her books are cozy and heart-warming.

We're fortunate that we can easily afford to pay for his school lunches, but this has not always been the case for us and is a fairly recent development. I have zero problems with tax dollars being used to feed children; it is WILD to me that some people actually have a problem with feeding kids.

The way this isn't even an exaggeration is a sad political commentary.
