A 36-yr-old man went to Bellevue for mental health treatment, was discharged in the middle of the night with no place to go, then was killed by a hit-and-run driver. Here’s part of his sister’s statement. This broke me a little. The systems we have set in place don’t serve the people who need them.

Can someone tell the shiteaters over at the @nytimes.com that instead of saying, “The Constitution doesn't give the president explicit authority over election law,” they can just write: “It’s unconstitutional.” But I guess they want to give their SCOTUS lords & masters a chance to weigh in first.

I found this description of what happened in 2020–21 to be, uh, disconcerting. As written, this reads as the author’s own opinion, not that of Yarvin! But maybe it’s just poorly edited?
While the alt-right largely came about as a reaction to the excesses of a relatively small group of "social justice warriors", the dissident right has sprung up in the aftermath of the massive social experiments of 2020-21: enforced mass lockdowns, enforced vaccination, enforced white guilt.

If it's a disgrace for Christian Germans to weaponize antisemitism against marginalized communities and progressive allies (including many Jews), how should we describe it when Jewish Americans do the same? It's a schande. The Jewish donor class has played an outsize role in the suppression of Palestinian solidarity in the United States. For example, a belligerent bunch of collectors, dealers, and art advisers (as well as some opportunistic artists) formed a secret WhatsApp group, "Art World for Israel," where they discussed a "deaccession plan" for the work of artists who dared to take a stand against ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Echoing the alacrity with which museums imposed layoffs at the start of the Covid pandemic, arts organizations began canceling events and exhibitions in mid-October 2023—targeting Palestinian imagery, Palestinian artists, and all those cultural workers who had ever criticized Israel or called for a ceasefire. *Are you now or have you ever been a signatory to an open letter?* Although in complete accord with an administration enthusiastically arming a genocide, this wave of censorship—unlike the midcentury Red Scare and the Christian right's obsession with blasphemy and pornography a few decades later—was led by the artists' and institutions' very own patrons.

CDU member Julia Klöckner posted this on Instagram in January, ahead of national elections: “Für das, was Ihr wollt, müsst Ihr nicht AfD wählen. Dafür gibt es eine demokratische Alternative: die CDU.” (“You don't have to vote for the AfD to get what you want. There is a democratic alternative: the CDU.”) She, uh, quickly deleted it. Anyway, she’s president of the Bundestag now.
