Please contribute to this GoFundMe to support the hundreds of my talented Washington Post colleagues laid off today.

I am heartbroken. I stand with them in their fight for fair treatment through the layoffs. I am honored to have worked alongside them.

See I must still be sweet & innocent because I immediately had an image of those bafflingly long television adverts of the early 1980s selling numerous products to get your plants to grow, your weeds to die, and how to get a stripy lawn.

IDK about the USA but over here if you buy a pack of undies from Marks & Spencer or somewhere similarly ubiquitous they come in packs of five as standard (or singly if you're going for the expensive stuff and have a small enough arse to do so).

Last time I counted (which was several years ago) I had 32 plus whatever was in the wash. Plus the plain black ones which were for the worst days of the month.

Just investigated this for Chromebooks and your Windows description is very accurate for finding the degree symbol on a Chromebook.

Well yesterday I was definitely "My vessel is stopped"

I'm OK with that, it's like the straw is so excited about all the bubbles cos I usually am. But the quoted post is absolutely right, labels are almost always an abomination and the worst clothing labels are made of the razor blades which weren't good enough to be actual razor blades.

Wondering if my parents still have all my old disks. The latter years of my disk-buying I managed to find packs of disks in funky colours and also a pack of labels illustrated with the Teletubbies.

I remember that broadcast. I didn't actively watch much kids' TV at the time (12yo and the homework burden was increasing) but my younger sister did, so it was usually on in the background at home.

No need to be so hard on yourself. Shovelling snow is heavy work in hard conditions, you only get to take it in your stride if you're seriously ripped like a pro athlete. Keep a mind to your heart rate and hydration if you have another go ❤️

Show them footage of any British protest march from the 1980s and see all the signs printed by the Socialist Worker. They might explode with incredulity 😄

Well that's good to hear, even if they took their time to let you know. Hope you have a better day tomorrow with good rest, hydration and food.

I use crystal string like the stuff that comes on reels (not the softer bundled-up stuff) in heishi bead sets, 0.8mm thickness. But I seal the knots with glue and leave them overnight rather than rely on it staying still by itself.

:( Is this crystal string for those little bead bracelets? I've had bad runs of them. If you're able to check the string has no occlusions that helps to root out snappy bits. I ended up throwing away half a reel once because I couldn't find a clear piece which was long enough.
