My walk to the metro has been looking real colorful!

I had a blast with #DCBookCrawl today for Indie Bookstore Day!

Today on my morning walk I passed both lilac and honeysuckle flowers, which are my two favorite flower scents. Smells like spring!

The poinsettia I got for Christmas has stubbornly hung on and started growing?! What do I do with it. I was not prepared to be the parent of a poinsettia tree.

Moving from the Pacific Northwest to the East Coast has introduced me to so many different new plants and trees and seasons. Like what do you MEAN you have a tree that has big, bright flower clusters erupt directly from tree trunks and thick branches??!

One of my small joys this year has been the Strange Planet daily calendar.

Might have to find some sweet discs today...
The daily calendar page for Friday March 7, 2025, Strange Planet comic by Nathan Pyle. There are four panels. Eight years of having Christmas cactus plants but no flowers, and apparently all it takes is moving one plant to where it can get some freezing winter air from a cracked-open window.

My grocery store has been completely out of eggs so often in recent weeks that they finally put up a sign.
Empty store shelves with a sign that reads "EGG SUPPLY UPDATE Egg manufacturers have had supply disruptions due to recent outbreaks of Avian Influenza across the country. As a result, we have seen higher costs from our suppliers along with same temporary product shortages. It is so, so cold outside, but I got to visit the three-story Barnes and Noble that recently opened in Georgetown.

Good morning from a snowy DC! We got a few inches overnight and it's still snowing!

Just got out of seeing this gorgeous production!

The actors who puppeted the animals somehow did it in such a way that the animals were the focus and the humans faded into the background - I don't know how they managed it.

There's something so *atmospheric* about foggy mornings
