The world is burning… sewing lucky fish from hand painted fabrics - all ripped sheets and old clothes.

In case anyone was curious about the Kuretake Granulating Watercolors I just swatched them. I really love how they react with each other (bottom right) and I can see using the Aurora Orange all the time as a fancy brown. Ditto for the blue. And the vividness of the violet cannot be overstated.

In my underpaintings, I set the tone and a bit of the composition but it's mainly about getting the white off and thinking about what is inspiring me at the moment (often food or Nirvana lyrics) This one was painted while listening to a villain origin story of the Queen of Hearts.

Thought I’d do another wear vs style. It’s really helping me love my clothes. Pic one is a fave sweater, jeans and sneakers. Pic two added a false collar, boots, belt and jewelry plus some finessing 😂

This is the study I was working on. I have been brainstorming a series of visually arresting memories from my childhood. Usually I do a bunch of small works on paper to see if there is enough there to be interesting and keep my attention.
