Other things are less applicable. While art doesn't care about truth (in a sense of "can this work practically"), science should.

When reading this, the quote of Einstein came to mind: "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler".

Here he talks about the little surprises, that often come in moments where no one expects them. Scientists would probably refer to it as "Heureka!".

This is his take on collaboration, for example, and I think it can be transferred 1:1 to science. Barely any great scientific discovery was a one man job. Reaching out and sharing ideas is key to progress.

I have massively enjoyed "The Creative Act" by @rickrubin.bsky.social. Although speaking mostly about art, some of Rick's ideas are highly valuable for other creators like scientists and researchers.

Last week I presented our new high-pressure impedance / X-ray cell at #IZC2025 in Dalian, China. It combines electrical and structural characterization as well as temperature measurement in a single ul sample volume. Useful to study crystal formation in liquids. More soon in our paper.
