You don't need to be worried, you juste have to ignore the remake since you're obviously not the target

The game was short, and unique gameplay-wise. So it was frustrating to have 0 replayability.

There's nothing to do in the game past a small amount of time, and it's far too easy.

If you really want to play the original game then play the original game, it didnt age too poorly.

Concerning them being independent, is that really an improvement ? I'm pretty sure Focus is very hands off and have a pretty good Playtest / QA system in place
