At first it seems Democrats are always caving to Republicans. But when you watch it happen over & over again you eventually wake up & realize it’s more sinister than caving. Democrats are COLLUDING with Republicans because they serve the same donors & same corrupt system as them.

This Saturday’s NIH Vigil will be a special one - Dia de los Muertos, baby!!
Dia de los Muertos! Come celebrate with us at the November 1st NIH Vigil. This vigil honors loved ones we’ve lost - family, friends, and members of our community - as well as the programs, projects, and hopes we’re grieving. Community Remebrance. Help us honor what we cherish. For the altar or ofrenda, bring a framed photo, favorite candy, or something to commemorate the memory. Note cards to describe your memory will be available. NIH Vigils. A weekly rally and protest commemorating the lives and knowledge lost through the NIH cuts. Saturdays at 10 am, Medical Center Metro. Black attire encouraged. Very limited parking available in Park & Ride, incuding accessible parking. Please bring non-perishable food or monetary donations for our local food drive! Goods will be delivered to a local food bank. Organized by employees and friends of the NIH. This event is NOT sponsored by the NIH.

NIH funds research that helps develop cures.

Does all research lead to cures? No.

Can we predict which studies will lead to cures? Also no.

So NIH funds the most promising research in lots of different areas.

Cast a wide net, catch more fish.

Curtailing funding for foreign components on NIH grants has real consequences. Broader participation in clinical trials means broader applicability of cures. And for rare diseases, there may not be enough eligible patients in the US alone. Ending foreign components will harm patients in the US.
