Woo just in under the wire last book finished in 2025

Wish I could say I 'got' all of it, it's definitely pushed Marx and Lacan up my to read list. That I did understand was eye opening for sure!

Fun mystery novel where the real meat is in the philosophical musings of the protagonist.

Ok well what to make of this, I started with a layman's understanding of psychoanalysis and some knowledge of economics and this thing just beat the hell out of me from page one. Real interesting stuff what I understood, may go back to spot the dog for my next read

Book 16: Lanark: a life in 4 books by Alasdair Gray

An semi-autobiographical account of a young artist in post war Glasgow sandwiched by a Kafkaesque phantasmagoria.

Nsfw front cover so just text with this post!

Words, words forming a sentence, words making up a sentence becoming a paragraph then a page and several pages then some chapters to be placed between two covers.

Now imagine these words are scary, that's this book.

Very interesting book, a spell binding array of references and modes of modern thought in a brief few pages.

Book 10, my second McCarthy. More philosophical than I thought it would be, great read though!

Book 8, short but sweet one running down the distinguishing features of UK churches built in the medieval era. Still got Phone on my mind so the next one will be another non fiction, probably historical given my appetite has been whetted.

Book 6 of the year so far, very interesting book and I can see its concepts continuing to be relevant into the future. Social science is a new field to me and it's interesting stuff.

Part two of the loose trilogy consisting of umbrella, shark and phone. All written in a stream of collective consciousness type style drifting in perspective from person and time occasionally mid sentence. Once I got used to it it's got an intoxicating rhythm.
