Can’t believe it’s already the final week of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale for 2025.

It has been a blast.

You can check out my exhibition at Campanas Deli, Mair street.

Just watched the first couple of episodes of Exposure by Bonnie Moir. It’s phenomenal.

Genuinely tense and engaging. The poster looks a bit meh but don’t be put off.

I watched the Outrun last night and it was phenomenal.

It’s a beautifully made sensory feast.

I’ve now had two of my work stolen during the Biennale. WTF is wrong with people?!

Here's a little post from a local fb group out here in Western Vic... I miss the days when they wanted to hang dictator Dan for the epidemic of potholes.

This interview with photographer Judith Nangala Crispin is extraordinary.

Her work is phenomenal.

Feeling ashamed to be a white Australian today but this reminds me that we are so much bigger than a herd of dropkick skid marks begging for attention.

I’ve shot this series of work in a variety of places… the new WAMA Foundation gallery, Lake Wendouree and even the Melton Botanic Gardens.

The MBG used to be my pony club and I never forgot how fuck off beautiful the trees are there. It is without doubt the best thing to ever happen to Melton.

Here we go…

Only 2 more sleeps until my series Women In Trees hits the wall.

Here we go… one more sleep until installation and one after that before the Ballarat International Foto Biennale kicks off!

I also went for a stroll at Hannah Watts Park in Melton. It’s a big public park with a river and trees and a car park and toilets and play equipment and bbqs. It’s to commemorate a white woman who was a midwife in Melton for a couple of decades. It has ducks.

I recently went for a stroll along the Hopkins River near Ararat. Thinking about the Djab Wurrung trees and what makes something easy to destroy.

Ellis was announced as the Ballarat Foto Biennale ambassador this weekend at a screening of Ellis Park with Justin Kurzel.

A portrait of him by Matthew Thorne won that Martin Kantor Prize in 2023 too!
