14. EVERSPACE 2 - Wrath of the Ancients DLC

A little TOO short for $25. Took me around 5 hours to breeze through all the new content, and while cool, while I still love the original, it just wasn't what I was expecting.

13. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

What a breath of fresh air this game was. Tony Hawk meets jet set, I absolutely loved this. Figuring out the movement and combos and finding all the graffiti tags in the game was so much fun. Platinum'd this one too, which I haven't wanted to do in a bit

12. Lords of the Fallen

Well, here we go with another disappointment. Most of the settings looked the same, with a few outliers in the later half of the game. The ending i got was disappointing and the final boss was a pushover. I don't care to replay for other endings tbh.

11. The Last Faith

Very good! Quite a lot of depth, definite inspiration from Blasphemous but with a Bloodborne setting. Slower combat and weapons, but once I found my groove and got some movement abilities, it all opened up nicely. I think I got the bad ending but oh well!

10. Warhammer 40k: Boltgun

It was neat. Environments and battles got a little samey over the missions, but it was still fun. It would have been better on PC, being able to aim more freely, but it was manageable on PS5.

9. Steelrising

Continuing on my "less than stellar games" trend this year. There was nothing exactly wrong with Steelrising, but it just never hooked me. Story never really made sense to me, other than it being revolutionary france. Gameplay got easy and exploitable.

8. Dark Souls 3

Again.

This run originally started as a farm for embers, as my friend and I are co-oping a soul level 1 challenge. However, I ended up enjoying a build I've never tried before, and decided to see it through to the end, DLC too.

The end of fire.

7. The Last Campfire

Cute, simple, and tons of fun. The story was sweet, finding lost embers and helping out characters along the way. Slept on this one in my wishlist for a while, but I'm very glad I bought it.

6. Remnant II

Well. I guess I'm on a streak of not the best games now. Remnant 2 wasn't awful, but it never really hooked me. This game kind of lacked any meaningful story or pacing. It feels like an improvement over the first in some areas, and worse in others.

5. Evil West

This was a game. It wasn't great, honestly not awful, but really nothing crazy. It was a fine palate cleanser after spending so much time on FF XVI. The art style was cool, and the music was okay, but the gameplay was very unresponsive and pretty uninspired.

4. Final Fantasy XVI

I mean... wow. 83 hours and it was an incredible journey. I loved every moment of this, from the combat, to the story, to the characters. The DLC was great, and added some extra power to the main story. People are mad at how different it is, but I loved it.

3. Dave the Diver

Wow! I absolutely loved this game. A little tough to control on the Switch, but honestly, I didn't care. I like the amount of post story content to do too, it will continue to provide entertainment on the go. Plus it got me hooked on Balatro!

2. Moonscars

Honestly, I dunno about this one. The gameplay was great, metroidvania with cool movement and abilities. But the story just never clicked for me, I didn't skip any dialogue and I still don't think I could summarize what was happening.

1. Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake

My girlfriend did most of the work on this one, she beat all the story bits and I went through afterwards and found all the collectibles and the platinum trophy! Not quite as polished as Battle for Bikini Bottom, but still fun.
