I've noticed that too I think my oldest drive is from 08-09 the only issue with not having them spin down is there pulling 270-320w constantly, once unraid 7.0 is fully out I'm gunna be moving my zfs pools that are hardly used to Sata so they can spin down and get some intel pcie ssds for cache
