I’m glad I went with this route, as I’m really happy with the final product. Much happier than I was with the dice rolling mechanic. Anyway, thanks for listening to my ramblings about making a silly game about being an orange cat! 6/6

It was obvious this method stripped the game of its feel. You weren’t an orange cat on a heist, you’re just flipping over cards and rolling dice. So with the deadline approaching, I decided to go back to the original Carta method, but with only 52 prompts. Much more manageable. 5/?

Which, of course, I wanted too. I gave up after about 20 prompts and restarted. Instead of prompts, I decided each card would constitute a “Card Challenge” where you roll dice to try and advance through the lab. After receiving playtest feedback, 4/?

It fit well with the image I had in my mind: an orange cat explores an evil scientist’s lab looking for the brain cell. However the Carta system requires that you write a total of 52 prompts, one for each card in the deck. 104 if you want to write different prompts for the two different modes 3/?

With how I wanted the game to be played. Researching other game systems led me to discover the Carta SRD, a system where you explore on a map of face down playing cards, and the cards determine what you encounter and find. I instantly knew this was what I wanted for Orange’s 11 2/?
