The other half of it too is that I did the first draft in about 3 months. My Fiancé went around telling all our friends I’d been possessed (she was kind of right).

I sort of did this for my setting too.
Started with a “what if x?” Hook, then built a world around what would really give that question an interesting space to unfold in.
Then the characters kicked in a door in the back of my head and now I’m obsessed with these people.

You ever go into your WB doc to write down a stray thought and get lost in all the other stray ideas you’ve written down and just end up yes banding yourself into writing a bunch more instead of editing/writing the current project?
