I think the main reason that I rarely involve reunion characters in my AUs is mainly
1. Other than the obvious ones like faust & talulah, they hardly have any thematic significance to his character, and their personalities don't rly,create much unique dynamic
2. Talulah being "Talulah" is-

I love mentally torturing my fav. I don't care if my fav dies, as long as I deem the death acceptable
But I can't accept mephisto's death his character is all about making decisions for himself. Hell, as if I'd let him die just for doing the BARE MINIMUM decision of choosing to forget his trauma

"Make the meaning harder to discern" to elaborate this, the scene where ryoshu makes a cat shaped smoke with her cig sounds like a threat in EN, but in JP she's just making fun of him for crying and chickening out when he misinterpreted her
I've come to terms with myself that despite how the EN loc tends to make the phrases' intention/meaning harder to discern & less accurate to the JP loc (that the language itself has closer structure & cultural influence to KR), I still prefer EN to the JP one, solely for being funnier
