I hope you have a great time, especially as you have been through major surgery. It will do you a lot of good to be able to get out and be with friends. Enjoy. I think anyone who doesn't drink must have a very strong personality to resist the arm twisting to have a drink when they are out in a group

I have since gradually regained the taste for drink but do not have nearly as much i used to. May be a couple of pints or glass or 2 of wine twice a week . It feels a more vexing way to socialise, although when I am not in the mood for a drink, people are still trying to twist my arm to have one.

About 3 years ago, i almost stopped drinking altogether. I just went off the taste of alcohol for about 9 or 10 months. I can't say that I didn't have the occasional drink in that time but they few and far between. The hardest thing was people trying to pressure you into a drink.

That seems far too long a time to wait. How is your recovery going?
