He is better than relegation fight/bottom half of the table. If we stay up then he will be the main reason for that alongside Vitor. My fear for him is that he will move and become a bench warmer like so many before him.

Is staying up worth more than £30m? That's the equation. If we could guarantee staying up without him then fine, don't pay. I'm not sure we will and there is definitely a far greater chance of staying up if we do sign him. I'm hoping we spend money.

Can't fault your thinking but maybe they will bring in Dean Saunders in February? They are useless enough to do that.

Fear it will be something like 3-2. We will cause them problems on the break but our defence will crumble again. Hope this is wrong at 5pm

Moyes is more defensive and maybe that's what we need. But I like your thoughts on Potter. He would be a real upgrade and would get my vote.
