I'm feeling for all of my friends and former colleagues in the US right now. How did you all let Trump happen, not just once, but twice? Why are you all letting the Supreme Court off the hook for letting Trump commit treason and breach all prior norms and the contstitution?

AND the best way to do this is accelerate the transition to electric vehicles with bi-directional charging because these will put sooooo much car battery storage distributed around our grids that the intermittency problem for renewables is completely solved!!!

Seems to have coincided with unprecedented ocean temperatures - could this be feedback dissolution of CO2 from warmer oceans?

Signed thanks Tim

And the coal fired power aerosol brightening. I’ve said this often, but IPCC have with criminally reckless complacency failed to advise UN on a precautionary worst-case basis as required by UNFCCC - including climate feedback loops and aerosol modelling with worst case settings!

Yeah and let’s add giving Musk/Trumps US $800M today for AUKUS - a project where we surrender our military sovereignty for nothing in return save for putting a nuclear target on our backs as they provoke our largest trading partner. Brought to us by the ALP/LNP duopoly.

EXACTLY as the 2017 Hothouse Earth paper predicted with 2030 or 2DegC the tipping point for climate runaway to 4-6DegC of warming. AND there are now over 30 climate feedback loops. If the coal fired power cloud brightening is also true, we’re fucked!! AND we’re still opening new coal and gas!!

Thanks Rex Patrick, you are a fearless warrior!

Gutless is Albo’s MO!

Agree, but he won the popular vote, so a majority of US voters seemingly DO believe perception over reality???? WTF Mercia?
February 3, 2025 at 1:56 AM
Yes so this adds another 470,000 people she has condemned to a premature death from climate collapse to the 2million death warrants that she’s already signed in coal extraction approvals. Of course she still has 24 million death warrants in her pending tray!! 26m people in AU!!
February 3, 2025 at 1:53 AM
Yeah but burning through 100million years worth of photosynthesis and CO2 drawdown in just 150 years is a bit of a problem. If we burnt through it in 100million years, we’d be fine, but doing it in 150 years kills our climate, us and our forests burn baby burn!!!

And it will continue to be the most expensive power you can buy and with no solution for the wastes generated. The costs of this are also obscured.

MUCH sooner than that I think!

We have the same problem here in Australia, the Labor party were elected promising much but have proved only a marginal improvement over the Liberals (Tories really) and on climate a dismal failure, approving more new coal and gas projects even beyond 2050 - totally cynical to Paris commitments!

I entirely identify with this remark. Our side so often reaches the wrong conclusion from shallow thinking and then gets all defensive when the perverse outcome is revealed.

thanks for taking this up. I’ve been arguing this for ages. The whole principle of an emitter buying the right to pretend not to emit from say a forester who must now pretend their wood has no carbon in it, with no net reduction in emissions anywhere is plainly bonkers!

Glad you’re here Sophie, will you also cancel your X account and encourage all the other Teals to do the same please?
