Ground #61 - Mansfield Town’s One Call Stadium (Field Mill, the oldest professional football ground in the world, to thee and me), MTFC v Leyton Orient. Thanks to my old school pals Pete & Robert for joining in this leisurely quest. The score? 1-1 at HT!

Is this the saddest helipad in the UK? #travel

Ground #60 - Rotherham United’s New York Stadium. The Millers were comprehensively outplayed today by a Crawley team playing like a top 4, rather than a bottom-4 side. A good lunch at Domo, Sheffield beforehand too. Thanks to my old pal Pete for his company & driving. #DoingThe92

My #WineOfTheWeek is this delicious 2015 Barolo by Reverdito. We bought it at the Comune in La Morra in Nov 2019 & it’s been well worth the wait to try. The nose is just brilliant: earth, rose petals, red berries & tar, then a palate of red berry fruits, rose petals & terracotta, just..wow! #wine

Life’s a beach. But someone has to do this! 😎🏖️🇲🇽 @markbratt.bsky.social

Amazing! We were lunching on the beach when we saw a couple of whales make their way across our bay. Luckily managed to get a decent clip of this one. 🇲🇽🌵🏝️

We had a great morning cooking & then sharing lunch in San Miguel de Allende with our hostess, Isabel 🇲🇽 #cooking #mexico @markbratt.bsky.social

Our best meal in #Mexico so far, at Casa Mercedes, Guanajuato. Superb spicing, cooking, service & a fab spot too. Can’t imagine why this isn’t in the Michelin guide - it’s better than several that are that we’ve been to this trip? @michelin-guideuk.bsky.social #restaurants #food 🇲🇽

Street art of #Oaxaca 😎☺️🇲🇽

More of #Oaxaca, which we’re in danger of falling for big time! Take care, my foolish heart…🇲🇽🦗😎❤️
February 15, 2025 at 9:52 PM
Oaxaca being Oaxaca! Just glorious! ❤️😎🇲🇽

I hope everyone’s enjoyed #ValentinesDay, whether a deux or solo. We were lucky enough to be in Oaxaca tonight, spending our evening at Cobarde, on the terrace overlooking the magnificent Templo de Santo Domingo 😎 #restaurants #Mexico #MCMA 🇲🇽 🥂

#WineOfTheWeek this week is, forgive me, a tad esoteric. A natural Zinfandel from Baja California by Vinos Pijoan: lighter (but 13.9% abv) style, fresh with sour cherry & black fruits, then graphite on the finish. A real find, at Restaurante Cobarde, Oaxaca, Mexico 🇲🇽🍷

I have seen the future. And I didn’t like it. #2
Puebla, Mexico today, plugged into a charging point outside our hotel. I’m guessing it’s a car? 🇲🇽

I have seen the future. And I didn’t like it! #1
Puebla, Mexico today: a TV screen set in the top of a urinal, playing adverts. Working while you whistle, maybe? 🇲🇽

As hip as they come, Botánico in Condesa, CDMX. No food photos but they can cook too! I suspect the beautiful people come for the vibe more than the food?!? #Restaurants #food 🇲🇽

#WineOfTheWeek is a thoroughly modern Rioja, like a cross between a trad Rioja & a Gredos Garnacha! Crunchy, chewy berry fruits, fresh - almost lifted - finishing with cherry & spice. Lovely, and astonishingly good value too!

#WineOfTheWeek A delicious English Pinot Noir from Lyme Bay Winery in Devon - tho’ the grapes come from the increasingly well-regarded Crouch River area of Essex. Really well made wine with rose-petal, raspberry, rose-hip & plums, finishing with sappy red fruits, a touch of oak & a hint of spice 😋🍷

#WineOfTheWeek Ok, I’m a beginner at serious Burgundy, & this is only a village wine - but I was blown away by this gorgeous Nuits-Saint-Georges by Dom. Henri Gouges. Mature; silky tannins, balanced with black cherry, strawberry, blueberry & damp earth, spice & wet stone - an absolute delight! ❤️😋

I just love this #wine! Seems to me a pure celebration of the winemaker’s art: take great fruit (of a time and a place) and then simply don’t mess around with it. Glorious! #RaulPerez 🇪🇸

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope your day’s gone as well as you’d hoped? Loved our walk this morning in Macclesfield Forest! Champagne cocktail next, then preparing & enjoying a Venison moussaka, our homage to the outstanding dish served at Pea Porridge, washed down with a gorgeous Malhadinha red 😘🎄🥂

Extraordinary. A novel that’s seemingly about the transience & insignificance of human life turns out to be hugely uplifting. Loved it. #Books #Reading

Blessed. What a treat chez nous tonight: morcilla & chorizo paella with an outstanding Priorat, Clos Martinet 2018, from Mas Martinet #food #wine🍷

Just brilliant! First visit to Rochelle Canteen last night: great menu, food to match, good list of natural wines and excellent service. What more do you need? #Food #Restaurants
