You don't wear the same colour as the bride (or bridesmaids of there are any). Asians (Indians) wear red outfits but it's changing with the times. You can get any colour of the rainbow, but red is traditional.

Some people want to celebrate their life rather than mourn their death. Also, for Asian (Indian) funerals, we would wear white or light colours. I've also been to a humanitarian funeral which was the best. It was all about my friend and celebrating his life. It was dress as you like.
