Or, ask yourself if what you are doing, that they're satirizing, is the right thing. And if it is, don’t worry about it. TV is in the entertainment business, they’ll live or die by their numbers

You can poo-poo my opinions, that’s fine 😀 but to to correct me my “Antonio”, I feel I need the right to reply, fast forward past the Keenan part to around 50s. share.google/fWM4xlO2K05I...

I did, and I think I’m the opposite end of the spectrum. I had fun, pretty much from post-dance class onward. I’m not a love every episode guy (Last week was bad) but I think this is my fave of the season so far.

While similar in Goodbye stature, Cecily had far more sketch stature. (It’s hard to imagine clamoring for any of Bowens characters when he returns to host). Cecily has pages of memorable sketches and stand out characters. I got emotional with Bowen, but I don’t know that I’ll miss him in sketches.

That was a fun episode. Super fun. Just fun throughout. Arianna Grande is a great easily the best episode of the season. Highlights were;
Bowens goodbye. 🥹.
Keenan as Black Santa. JAJs Bocelli voice. All of Arianna Grande, especially the reprisal of Antonio. Aidy Bryant. Cher.

My theory is that they don't know how to write for British hosts. This felt like a random ep from the mid 40s. (Season 40-49, not the 1940s) It lacked any kind of original sketch. The pretapes were the highlights, but they could've all been a little better. Hopefully they were saving stuff for AG

It was a show of two halves. Really enjoyed the first half, dipped a little at WU, then just ran out of steam half way through the Dismukes leaves him sketch. The Cheese sketch was my SotN. I’m liking Jeremy the most of all the rookies. Padilla’s accents were suddenly a whole new thing!

Enjoying listening to this scathing but still funny take down the of SIII. Got to admit that I really liked the movie as a 9 year old. Imagine my surprise when I found out Richard Prior wasn’t the slap stick comedian that this (and later SNE, HNE) portrayed. SII is still my favorite though.

Glen Powell refuted all doubts about him being just a pretty boy and was a mighty fine host. I'd be happy for him to return. Enjoyed the whole episode without any one sketch being stand-out great. What is this? 5 good episodes in a row?

I know you’ve recorded by now, but I want to retract my previous comments. I was too harsh. I’ve rewatched sketches and found them just outright funny. The American Doll XL sketch gets funnier each watch and I can’t get enough of Mikey and Jeremy saying “Anna”

Her pedophile joke reminded me of Louis CKs from a few years ago, back before we knew…

Right. The good version of this is Soul Sista. Stick with the one song and ramp it up. Happy to see Tommy lead.

I’d be interested to hear what others think. I enjoyed most of the sketches. There were some fun performances in there. Very funny premises. But it was just missing something and I can’t put my finger on it.

Am I starting to judge episodes on if Ashley Padilla stands out.

I liked it. I thought this contained more funnies than any other episode this season. Up until the last sketch, I think I was chuckling in every sketch throughout. Sketch of the Night was the Missing Wives Netflix Dic. Moment of the night was Mikey walking into the Newsroom background wall.

I thought Sabrina Carpenter played her boy perfectly. She was the best boy, and this was her best performance

I think I liked the episode more than most, more than week 1, less than week 2. You can always spot a “third in the run” that’s when the recurring sketches pop up. Martin Hurlihey has been holding onto that pretape for 3 weeks?! Kids a genius. Like, somewhere between Mike O’Brien and Kyle Mooney

Definitely a step up from last week. Felt like an episode from the Poehler era. Enjoyed the attorneys sketch. Laughed at the stupid Colin AI joke. Today marked the start of the Ashley Padilla takeover of SNL. So glad to see her and JAJ (not you, Dad!) all over the ep.

The first three live sketches all seemed to be “Here’s the joke - the sketches will write themselves”. They didn’t. The Gender sketch was a Washington’s Dream sketch without the delivery of Nate. Also, with less female cast members, let’s see more Ashley. Here’s to bumpy starts.

So, not ProLife?

I love Mikey. Have done since the beginning. Love his writing. Love the way he builds up his cast and hosts.

Hate it when he uses his “childish voice”. His “sowwy” voice. Which he did twice this evening. Please come back Mikey, don’t let this be your last episode.

Otherwise, underwhelmed

The actual song in Baby Shoes reminded me of Christmas Socks, from the Ill-fated Covid episode.

In Walton Goggins, they had a host with so much energy, that he could have Defoe or Brolin level episode. Instead he was given Keaton level writing, so this is going to end up being largely forgettable without being bad.

I’m not here for conservative propaganda. I know where to find that. But similarly, I don’t want Liberal propaganda. It’s time Liberals started pointing out what HAS happened, rather than what could happen. What “could happen” is too similar to Trumps Truth Central.
