lack of demand for change is not why this country is a mess. Americans have been protesting since 1776. it's a nuanced issue that isn't worth arguing about in 300 characters. but don't talk down to Americans who are actually fighting their asses off for change. happens every day

I just don't know what you want American workers to do. stage a walk out 'cause people who are scheduled off on holidays dont get paid? the majority of Walgreens employees work holidays and are getting paid extra now. better use of time to protest wage theft, better work/life, paid family leave, etc

yeah idk what to tell you. it's not uncommon in the US to not receive pay when you don't work. that's all this change is. people who work on holidays are actually getting a pay increase. but I think if we want to tackle work reform in the US, holiday pay isn't top of anyone's list.

never said it was reasonable. but it's at least consistent with most retail/service jobs in the US, so I just dont think this is the scandal some people are making it out to be. the people who are hurt most by this is pharmacy though as they never work holidays. so yeah, I think it's a bad call

we still get paid overtime if we work on holidays. it's just people who aren't working those days that aren't getting paid.

I work for Walgreens and to be fair this is just for people who don't work on holidays. working employees still receive time and a half. but this change really screws over pharmacy
