Just this... spot on, mate! Your adorable messages to your partner confirm that you are more of a man than any of them will ever be.

Much of the press is billionaire-owned and structurally hostile to Labour, with Tufton Street setting the tone. But Labour share the blame: dire messaging and the mistake of chasing voters who’ll never back them instead of owning and selling their wins.

Thing is, the US benefits more than almost anyone from the current setup. Undermining it doesn’t make America stronger, it just makes power more expensive to hold onto. Markets notice that sort of self-harm long before politicians do.
January 26, 2026 at 12:25 PM
Absolutely. If the world starts drifting away from the US because it’s unreliable, America’s in real trouble. Dollar dominance isn’t destiny — it’s a system built on trust. Undermine that, and the cheap borrowing, capital inflows and power drain fast.
January 25, 2026 at 11:00 PM
Oh yeah... forgot! Easily done given the lack of subsequent press coverage.
January 24, 2026 at 12:57 PM
Indeed. Come to think of it - whatever happened to the guy who supposedly shot at him??
January 24, 2026 at 12:44 PM
Fair criticism. At the time it made sense on paper: it formalised what we were already doing with the US, spread cost and risk, and fit long-standing defence policy. The misstep was assuming US stability. <under-statement of the year!>

It appears that this was forced by Tory peers.

Cutting military ties or shutting US bases would weaken our own security and our NATO commitments, rather than achieve much in reality.

It’s fair to be critical of Starmer, but it’s also worth weighing up what actually keeps the country safe versus what just sounds decisive online.

Here! Here!
January 23, 2026 at 8:42 PM
Except that it's the Tory peers that forced this.
January 23, 2026 at 8:39 PM
Except that it's the Tories that forced the u-turn.
January 23, 2026 at 8:39 PM
It seems it was the Tory peers that forced this.

Incredibly, he doesn't drink!

Oh, very good!!

I'm beginning to wonder whether Polanski is not just the left's populist grifter.
January 20, 2026 at 3:35 PM
Nir should social media posts. This has been debunked as far as I'm aware. There's enough crazy shit happening, no need for disinformation.
January 20, 2026 at 12:07 AM
Another article incisive about the supposed failure of calm diplomacy, less so on what a realistic alternative might look like.
January 20, 2026 at 12:05 AM
This has been debunked as far as I can see. With the shit already going down butch Trump, there's no need to spread falsehoods.
January 19, 2026 at 8:56 PM
Is this a review of Brexit Con by Peter Geoghegan...?
January 19, 2026 at 8:43 PM
Yep. And with the crazy shit happening with Trump, there's no need to spread falsehoods.
January 19, 2026 at 7:58 PM
He meant it harmed white racist Americans. And that it did. Which is, of course, great.
