There have been countless reputable publications that have showed the benefit of DEI for business profitability and also for society. What message are we sending by saying that DEI is not important?

Think about this - Our own Electoral College and Senate are built on DEI principles. They give smaller states equal representation and aim to balance power and influence. 🤔

Do businesses and schools have physical accessibility for people who need it? That’s DEI.

Do businesses offer remote work? That’s DEI.

There are many more examples, but you get the point….

Does your child have an IEP or special accommodations for test taking and learning? That’s DEI.

Does your school or business offer mental health support? That’s DEI.

Does your business offer equal pay to equally qualified candidates? That’s DEI.

The misconception is that DEI impacts hiring practices - e.g. A less qualified “DEI candidate” will be hired over a more qualified, white, cisgender, neurotypical, physically able, young American male.

DEI covers more than hiring. It ensures policies are in place to allow everyone opportunity.
