Regeln sind wichtig, doch in Good Old Germany übertreiben wir gerne, überdefinieren Regeln & Gesetze und bedenken den Kontext zu wenig. Wer Katzen kennt weiß, dass eigentlich die Katze selbst einen Schein bräuchte, weil die Einflussnahme der Halter/in überschaubar ist.

Agree, the smaller, the lighter, the better. And since people with vehicles move at avg 25-30 kph, pretty much regardless of power and size, big vehicles become a lame choice. About new laws implemented: they must fit into an existing car-focused environment. Change this > less regulations needed.

Indeed. Look at it from a systemic point: ambient occlusion increases stress, uncertainty, making an environment less livable, thus less desirable, people have less positive feelings, this will result in less tourism, lower rents, and so forth. See Paris: all car-free places thrive.

Ambient Occlusion is dangerous, particularly in cities. It is, however, rarely discussed and it is a „silent“ fact (not spoken about in public) in automotive design.
