How do I know? I'm an immigrant myself. I had to work with my employer years ago to craft a job listing that was matching my profile perfectly, but also, formulating it in a way that it's asking for too much, so they could reject candidates on the spot.

I couldn't have become an immigrant otherwise

Not trying to excuse it or anything, far from it, but the government also has a part to play in ghost jobs. Due to the law on immigration, job-sponsored green card and H1B visas need to prove no American could do the job instead, and so they have to open job listings for this reason.

Tech companies accused of bending H-1B rules with newspaper job listings
Positions meant to be advertised widely still appear to target immigrants, based on recent listings obtained by Newsweek.

The best anti-AI post I've seen in a while is bsky.app/profile/ques...

It perfectly describes what AI agents will never be able to replace: silliness and quirks. Our urge to just go derp sometimes. That's what makes us unique. That's what makes us irreplicable and irreplaceable.
Scary time time to be an artist. Coping with cute noodles and humor.
