Does Belfast have the 2nd highest number of asylum seekers in the UK, and do almost a fifth of them live in BT12, as claimed by DUP MLA Edwin Poots?

The latest PropertyPal data shows the price of the average rental listing across NI has risen to £960 a month, a rise of 8.5% over the last year. In Belfast, the average monthly rent for new listings has now hit £1,127.

NI Audit Office report on #homelessness is very helpful with startling facts that might come as a surprise to some. Reducing hotel/B&B use is a must for obvious reasons and rebalancing budgets to focus on prevention and co-ordinated support is the way forward, along with social housing building.

This morning the Department for Communities released the latest housing statistics for NI. The number of households with homelessness status continues to climb, almost reaching 31,000. Since March 2015, the number has increased by 127%
