Future text book example for functional stress granules! G3BP1 granule formation being pH-dependent could explain observations of stress granules as protective plugs at endolysosomal membrane damage site - indicating it might be exclusively applicable to membrane damage in lysosomes though

Stress granules function at sites of intracellular membrane damage by forming on and stabilizing the ruptured membrane and promoting membrane repair.
