Call me old fashioned, outdated, but taking away opportunities for young people to travel the world, open their eyes to new horizons is so wrong. How about we get serious instead about better public transport and get commuters off the road, proper school transport for all pupils etc. Real impact!

Travelling on a train in Ireland is something else! I remember that woman who was in a rush to glue on her fake fingernails before we pulled into Heuston… never a dull moment!🤣

Danke für diese Ausgabe. Schön, das wieder einmal der Begriff ‚Baltikum‘ kritisch betrachtet wird und wie wir uns gerne im Westen mit dieser geographisch/historisch/kulturellen Kapsel zufrieden geben.

Exactly! As someone just recently said: Democracy doesn’t just disappear, it gets voted out. Even in a dictatorship, elections remain an integral part of the regime’s legitimisation. Look at Russia.

We should no longer waste time on discussing how maximalist and deranged Putin’s demands for ‘peace’ are. We should put all our energy and resources into ending Russia’s aggressive, imperialist conquest. That includes more than media-capturing ‘summits’.

Despicable that such a high profile representative of Putins genocidal war machine arrives unhindered in a private jet to lecture about multilateralism and peace! This kind of ‘neutrality’ from Switzerland is a slap in the face of Ukraine. Nice to see at least some solidarity from other delegates.
