The Warmachina Gabriel Mark 3 tells Nicholas that the area is a weapons free zone. With the stipulation that if Nicholas destroys any part of the castle he'll pay for it out of his own pocket. Nicholas laughs after hearing Gabriel. Telling the machine that Sovereign knows him too well. Then asking Gabriel to hold his shotgun for him. As Gabriel is surprised at how Nicholas got out of his clothes. After Gabriel asks where Nick's clothes went. He answers by saying what kind of fool hunts a rabbit with a cannon. Then telling the Warmachina that he has a way to keep himself warm. As he clenches a fist causing fire to appear from it.

Nicholas peeks past a corner to see a Cyclops wielding a large club in a fight against some Magitek Mechs. Thinking to himself how they aren't the only ones here. While watching Nicholas thinks about how the Cyclops is beating in some Magitek Killer Mantis Mechs. That he wouldn't mind getting in on this. Nicholas turns around to the warmachina Gabriel. Asking if he's clear to engage any hostiles. Gabriel checks by looking up the mission parameters.

On missions like this. It's best to investigate slowly. Now with the end of the Garlean Empire the amount of deserters complicates situations like this.

Nicholas has searched inside a Magitek juggernaut for a recording box. But what he found was that it had been wiped. So he had no clue what had flown inside them. Saying so over the radio with Gabriel right behind him. Nicholas is told by a superior that the perimeter had been secured. That he's been cleared to enter. Though when Nicholas had gone to the opening inside he came upon a scene of broken Magitek Mechs and piles of frozen Garlean bodies. Nicholas tells his commanding officer to alert the Garlean Diplomat of the lost soldiers. His Superior tells him the Liaison Officer was notified while asking Nicholas for some positive identification for the bodies. Nicholas searches for the body. Seeing the person was a Magitek Engineer. Telling his Superior that he can't search them without breaking the frozen solid Garlean.

Nicholas asks for some backup and extra gear. Bajsaljen answers that Nick's request was approved. Telling Nick that Lilja sends her regards and that Nicholas can defrost his arm by placing it into a fire when he camps for the night. After waiting Nicholas receives what he asked for from his Gabriel companion. Thanking the warmachina as Nick asks the golden machine to watch his back. While also asking to set up a signal boost when he's inside. Once Gabriel confirms the connection Nicholas adds to save the video feed from his helmet and to scan for life signs.

Strangely enough Nicholas' favorite color is green. They're also fond of black, Rosa rugosa red, pink, Lonicera albiflora white, and Lonicera sempervirens yellow. 😅

Nicholas losing an arm and leg nearly made her feel lost. But a raid on a Garlean supply train gave them not only supplies. It came with a prototype replacement arm. One that was swiftly taken to Nicholas. While not remembering much from the operation they wake up weeks later.
