Yeah I agree with this, but I think the former is what most people mean, including me, when they use the word “parity”. Is there any professional sport where “anybody can beat anybody”

Yeah well they’re still occupying our cities and will continue to until he gives the order. Not sure how weak that makes him.

It doesn't demonstrate steadfast leadership to fire the guy because you don't like the chants in the stadium, which I think is the real reason he was fired now

I think you're assuming they "came to terms" in a sober, just-the-facts way. There's just no reason to give this ownership group, which signed off on the Luka trade, the benefit of the doubt that they're capable of that quality of decision-making

How good he is at baseball is a separate issue. It doesn't raise flags that his teammates wanted him traded to the extent they told a reporter about it? Players have lesser reasons for missing time that don't result in this kind of response from their teammates. But maybe they're all dicks, idk

I think it was real to the extent that his teammates were frustrated with him to the extent that they wanted him traded, which isn't something you see a lot. Maybe they were being dicks but players miss time without their teammates asking they be traded...
