Hi, I’m Nick.
I’m a Texas State alumnus with a BFA in theater.
I’m interested in reading, writing, acting, graphic design, and politics. I also like anime/manga, Kitty cats, and the occult. I responded to DMs on a case by case basis.
This is one reason why I no longer believe in a just and loving God. I think more people in the United States should at least consider atheism. I believe that we’re at a point in our country where, at minimum, we should be skeptical about God’s existence.

It was never this strict with me growing.
I know it’s not be a popular opinion, but the church can blow it out of their collective asses: It’s BS. Eat what you want.
I will admit, you can get some good fish dinners during lent.

No. You’re a shithead. And your God is horrible at making plans. It’s almost like he doesn’t exist. If he does exist, he’s not great. Here’s my proof: You and President Lard Ass exist.

In these troubling times, we all should turn to the good book for guidance.

That’s nothing. In Austin someone made a statue of a goat with Elon’s head, riding a rocket.

It finally arrived! I’ll star reading it today. Maybe it will help me become a super brain.

The excuse that a lot of conservatives would give for Trump is that we’ve elected a president not a pastor. They’d find a way to justify their insanity. I think if I ever do anything wrong, I’m go to tell people that’s ok because I’m not a pastor.

I’m not a religious person, but I am giving some thought about inventing a religion where we worship Dudley Moore.
I’m sure most of you know who he was; if you don’t, go watch the movie “Arthur.”

For me, this sums up why I have a hard time believing in Jesus and an all powerful, all loving God. Of course, I’m sure there’s more than one way to think about God or gods. What are your thoughts?

Happy birthday! I hope it’s going well.

🧵so I reading more of “One-Dimensional Man.”
My question is: Is Bluesky a false need?
Marcuse writes that it’s up to the individual to determine whether something is a true one or a false one, but says the author, it’s not that simple: The individual as a member of an advanced society (continued)

I have no idea; however, I’ve been wondering if this book is worth a read:

I’m reading this along with about half a dozen others. It’s a little slow, but it’s worth it.

🧵I read the first eight pages so far. It starts by asking, “what is humanism?” From what I gather from my reading is that it can be a little complicated: On the one hand it’s personal, unique to each person; it’s the things that we value that help us realize humanis.

I started reading this. I’ll let you know how it’s going.

Lesson 3: Beware of the One-Party State. support a multi-party system. one party will use the system to chip away at the system. participate in state and local politics. This was written in 2017. What’s interesting is that the author mentions 2024. I think we may have failed lesson 3.

I hate clowns. This is my worst nightmare come to life: Living in a country that’s about to be run by clowns. And not just any clowns, some of the worst kinds of clowns: fascists, nazis, conspiracy theorists, and Christian nationalists. And let’s not forget the clown king himself—Trump.

Here is lesson two: Defend institutions (examples can include newspapers, unions, laws, and organizations) institutions can’t defend themselves.
Institutions don’t have to be swiftly destroyed; they can be slowly deprived and changed in order to gird the very thing they should guard against.

So I started reading this today. I read the first lesson. The two main takeaways: Don’t obey in advance; It tells authority what they can get away with in the future. And when people accept a new regime, they can become surprisingly compliant.
