Just recovered from covid, still as annoying as ever. Fever, sore throat, aching body, the works. Slightly annoying is the fact that as the person who is wfh, I'm the one who got infected.

Now to fight through the brain fog and work on my next client's book.

I've been playing the new mobile game, Hello Kitty Friends Match. It's a run-of-the-mill Candy Crush clone with some nice QoL changes. But I do have to question the amount of monetization for what appears to be a children's game.

This is just the opinion of a small content creator, but it would be nice if indie developers optimized their games more in line with what they are presenting in game? Several games I've been trying to review lately have been let's say "basic" in terms of presentation but require 12GB GPUs.

I guess I'm glad I haven't been counting down the minutes for the new season of LD+R. It feels... sanitized, a little bit derivative. A lot of them just felt like concept stories being tested on an audience to see if they want more. But as a curious afternoon watch, it went by just like that.

"There's no new games for me," feels like such a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you're not willing to engage with any new games then yeah, there are no new games for you because devs no longer see you as a target demo and just move on to those who will enjoy their games.

I remember people doubting that YouTube would show ads longer than a couple of seconds. Well, here's a near 4-hour livestream served up as an ad.

Just saw a post about a local school on fire. While it's news I suppose. There's a part of me that feels that not everything has to be seen right now. Like it's desensitizing us to the craziness of the world.

I'm curious as to why I need a community just to be alone?

It's interesting seeing how people are panic posting (not diminishing the panic, I just have nothing substantial to add). Where people are like "you get why 100% tariff is bad right?" Actually, no. I and some of the less financially educated people don't. Please expound further.

After 3 months have passed, my car is finally back to its pre-accident state. Now if I could only earn a bit more money and get my health back. I'd probably be much more jovial.

Rewatched the whole live-action Transformers franchise while waiting for my car to be serviced at the service center. Dated movies, still spectacles to watch with all the live stunts and explosions. Enjoyable when you're numbing your mind to what's happening to the world right now.

I think I need a refresher on how social media algorithms work. Aren't you shown stuff that align with your views and interests. Does it mean that everyone shouting that the ship is sinking is only being broadcast to those who already know that the ship is sinking and no one else?

My new website is up. I hope that I'm able to write more thoughtful articles that move away from my old content writing roots. Perhaps cover stuff more locally and less mainstream.

The recent Nintendo Direct delivered a couple of surprising announcements that have certainly raised eyebrows: the appearance of Patapon 1+2 Replay and Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots.

Managed to finish off 4 2D Metroid games during my commute last month. I'm about to finish Symphony of the Night and I'm thinking if I should continue looking for more Metroidvania styled games or start a different genre.

Been winding down on work so I'm also looking for opportunities out there.

I'm definitely excited for the Switch 2. I sold my original Switch during the height of the pandemic because I needed money and I never replaced it. Which means I have a huge library of both Switch 1 and 2 games to play.

I stopped being in gaming groups because I'm terrible at the group dynamics. They usually fall into these groups. "Don't have time for gaming" group or the "oh I've already heard/finished said new game" group. Either you're pandering to one side cause they aren't interested or you're already late.

I liked Ne Zha 2. It had this epic feeling that we don't get in Western movies anymore. The plot was quite intricate as well. However, if you didn't watch the first movie. The shift from a deeply personal journey to one that is... celestial scale robs the main characters their time to shine.

Fucking hell, Israel has opened across-the-territory airstrikes on their Gaza concentration camp. They're just exterminating at this point. Israel rejected the peace offerings over and over, they broke the cease-fires over and over, and now they're bombing schools, refugee camps, children, humans.

Where is the same vitriolic response that Michelle Yeoh got for the Taiwan situation? Or are people willfully ignoring this?
BREAKING: At least 100 Palestinians, including many children, have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip as Israeli officials threaten a ground invasion, according to Reuters.
