Heat not so widespread today, 30C+ confined to S England, S Mids & EA. UKV squeezing in 35C toward N Kent/S Essex. Date record is 36.7C at Heathrow in 2015, unlikely to beat that. More bearable temps tomorrow for the mentioned areas & the following night more comfortable too!

Most higher resolution models loosely coming into agreement for some organised and perhaps strong #thunderstorms to move NE across parts of SE England & East Anglia Friday evening. The 00z ECMWF lightning density map particularly interesting and suggests frequent lightning ⚡️⚠️

First chalk downland orchids I’ve seen this year on the dog walk near home this morning, were several of them in one small area. One of them a 🐝 appears to be enjoying the nectar.
